Facility Expansion
In early 2020, CMB Erectors Inc. significantly upgraded Manchester Pets’ facility in Brantford, ON, to boost their shipping capabilities. To meet growing demand and improve efficiency, CMB added 8,000 sq. ft. of operational space using a full Steelway building package.
The expansion featured a mono-slope design and a standing seam roof, purpose-built for enhanced logistics. This included the addition of two new dock doors and a large drive-up overhead door, allowing Manchester Pets to handle larger deliveries and outgoing shipments more effectively.
A key challenge during construction was maintaining Manchester Pets’ daily operations. CMB, working closely with Vicano Construction and the client, ensured continuous safety and workflow for both construction crews and facility staff amidst constant truck movement.
Upon completion, Manchester Pets had more than doubled its loading and shipping capacity. This strategic expansion empowered the company to serve more customers and operate with greater efficiency every day.
