CMB Erectors – Standing Seam Roof Anchor/Clamp Inspection

  • Frequency

    It is recommended that the Standing Seam Roof Anchor be inspected before each use.

    Formal Inspection: A formal inspection of the Standing Seam Roof Anchor must be performed at least annually by a competent person other than the user. The frequency of formal inspections should be based on conditions of use or exposure. Warning: If this equipment has been subjected to fall arrest forces, remove from service and destroy, or return to an authorized service centre for repair.
  • Visual and Touch Inspection

  • Look for cracks or wear that may affect the strength or operation of the unit.

  • Tagging System

  • Every Standing Seam Roof Anchor must have a legible tag identifying the model, date of manufacture, name of manufacture, limitation, and warnings. Figure 2: Example of ID and Warning Labels
  • Cleaning and Storage

  • Clean the Standing Seam Roof Anchor with a mild soap and water. Excessive build up of dirt may prevent the swivel bracket from swivelling.
